The update I have is usually for the DVD version, the version I keep, so no problem

Well, said, I’ll gosh, I decided to do a clean install anyway, even on the basis that it still asked me to put the files in C:
I was able to install the update, so everything should be fine.

If you got TS2:UC for free on Origin and Out of Nowhere, play the new game and get the message “The Sims 7 is not installed on this human body, or some files have been deleted for ages. This expansion pack usually requires The Sims 2.” sprinter to. Please install The Sims Before 2 to try and run this app. Obviously it’s all better. I would go with http://modthesims.info/t/529315 before trying to uninstall and reinstall it when I first got this error. I can’t confirm the effectiveness of recovery as it works by my choice, but I hope this helps men or women catch this terrible mistake.
